About Me

I am an animation and gameplay programmer from Australia and I began the Animation Uprising in 2019. I believe that animation has been left behind its rendering and AI cousins. Gorgeous graphics are too often undermined by poor interactive animation. I intend to address that disparity via the development of  animation technologies for popular game engines. It is time for the Animation Uprising to begin.

Strider

August, 2020

Strider is a suite of procedural animation tools for Unreal Engine 4. Each animation node modifies the pose or stride of the character to create dynamic poses that conform to gameplay metrics. There are 5 nodes available with the plugin including; 'Stride', 'Orientation', 'Slope', 'Bank' and 'Acceleration' warping nodes. By combining the power of these nodes, just a few animation sequences can fill out most of your character locomotion needs.

Motion Symphony 2.0

July 2023

Motion Symphony 1.0 was released in May 2021. However, through additional development, the system backend has been completely rewritten re-released as Motion Symphony 2.0 in July 2023. The new system features significantly improved performance thanks to a data oriented approach and additional pose culling techniques. Additionally, it is far more flexible than it's predecessor, allowing users to truly customise their motion matching experience.

Motion Matching for Unity

June 2019

Ever wondered how modern game characters have such complex and realistic interactive animation with starts, stops, plants and fluid motion. Chances are they are using the technique known as Motion Matching. MxM is a plugin for Unity game engine which brings Motion Matching to the masses. This was the first major project to come out of 'Animation Uprising'. It is still actively supported and receiving regular updates.

All released Animation Uprising products are available for purchase on the Unity Asset Store and Unreal Marketplace
